Open space office Advantages and Disadvantages

Open space style in office interior, struggle b/t privacy and team productivity. La Vida Interior Co.

Everyone seems to be struggling with [workplace privacy]," O'Neil told Business News Daily. "It's affecting engagement, performance and [job] satisfaction."
One of the greatest benefits of a well-designed workspace, which offers privacy in the office, is an increase in engagement and productivity among workers. Of the 11 percent of survey respondents who were highly satisfied with their work environments, the majority (88 percent or more) said their workplaces allowed them to concentrate easily, work in teams without being interrupted, choose where to work based on their tasks, and feel a sense of belonging to the company and its culture.

undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, ’50 shades of grey’ tells the story of an unexplainable and explicit attraction between a young, naive woman, and a very wealthy, experienced man. christian grey’s lavish and extravagant lifestyle is reflected in the clothes he wears, his indulgent hobbies and the incredible penthouse apartment he lives in. the luxurious abode has seen covet lounge and their partner brands design and supply an extensive set of furniture for the film’s set.

just a few days before the film premier on valentine’s day, designboom looks inside the apartment and the furniture that fills it, and talks to the covet lounge team about the unique décor adapted to suit such an extraordinary character
designs from brands boca do lobo, delightfull, brabbu and koket match perfectly with the main character’s extravagant ways and millionaire taste. each piece was carefully selected to fit its designated environment style — from bold and avant-garde, to organic and feminine. with pieces such as delightfull’s ‘turner’ table and ‘ike’ floor lamp, both from the vintage collection, as well as boca do lobo’s ‘diamond’ sideboard, and eccentric ‘pixel anodised’ cabinet, grey’s apartment has a strong contemporary design influence. brabbu’s ‘sequoia’ center table koket’s ‘burlesque’ console add soft and natural lines to the scheme

photographer lucas zimmermann has spent more than two years capturing ordinary traffic lights with a surreal and spectral twist. by night, zimmermann takes to the sleepy streets of weimar, germany and captures the vibrant luminesce subtly emitted by the signals. intense rays of red, yellow, and green radiate through a shadowy mist, exposing the ordinary traffic light in a completely new light.
the series started more than two years ago and has recently been expanded to include an alternative perspective on the scene. ‘I have been waiting for two long years to finally go out again and progress on my traffic lights series,’ zimmermann says. rainbow hues emanate from within the traffic lights, forming a sharp juxtaposition between the heavy metal infrastructure and the delicate colors they diffuse

What Does Creative Managers do To increase employee productivity? La Vida Interior Co.

Provide employees with different spaces for different tasks by balancing open spaces with more private areas. The idea of productivity based on collaboration has turned open spaces into a paradigm for the modern workplace. But smart managers know that a truly productive office is also about flexibility. This means a one-size-does-not-fit-all approach that provides employees with a wide array of space types that adapt to their specific needs.
“A truly forward looking workplace incorporates elements like personal work booths and activity-based work areas, different-sized meeting rooms, informal ‘collaboration zones’ and purely social areas and creates the perfect balance for their employees to thrive,” says Ed Nolan, senior VP  for workplace strategy at JLL, a real estate service firm that is refreshing its Chicago headquarters.
Encourage collaboration and brainstorming through space: Create open hubs and wide lounges connected by ample hallways that encourage interaction and where people can meet and start conversations. You can also use whiteboard paint to turn walls into brainstorming and creativity areas that engage employees and spark ideas and innovation.
Provide spacious areas: It’s important to design an office where employees can freely work and move without disturbing others. Overcrowding is linked to poor performance. So always ensure that workers have a buffer zone in which their personal space is safe.
Ask your employees what they want: According to their own survey, JLL’s employees of all ages wanted working environments that adapted to their needs. But other studies have linked open floor plans with less satisfied workers and constrained creativity. Conducting employee surveys allows for a more tailored office design based on their own preferences.
Create clear boundaries between areas: Customize each office space to the department and its workers so no distractions can hinder their work and members of the same area can reinforce teamwork and identity.
Think about space for client meetings: If your office will allocate space for clients to come in, create a comfortable space that showcases the values and brand of the company. It can also feature welcoming arrangements and accessibility for the handicapped and elderly
