Creative ceiling design for pastry shop Lavida interior Company

at the heart of the historic city of alcalá de henares near madrid, local firm ideo arquitectura has renovated a 150-year-old plot as a colorful, contemporary bakery. the aged characteristics of the original site are maintained and enhanced with an artistic installation that spreads across the ceiling, suspended above customers as they shop and eat. comprising more than 12,000 pink-painted wooden sticks, the display complements the surrounding brick walls while adding a playful yet polished personality to the overall space

as part of the project brief, the client, ‘pan y pasteles‘ required only the presence of pink and the use of their corporate image. this allowed ideo arquitectura the freedom and flexibility to invent an identity for the chain’s third retail space.

as this shop’s main feature, the team, led by architect virginia del barco, simulated an indoor coral reef, whose ‘tentacles’ undulate from the entryway to the edge of the site. at slightly varying heights, the wooden poles seem to oscillate, drawing visitors towards the rear of the space. alongside the interior canopy, the studio designed the light fixtures, which mimic the tubular shape of the installation, along with tables, stools, shelves and bar

Creative glass house in a red polka pattern La Vida Interior Design

continues her engagement with philip johnson’s legendary glass house by creating the experience of an ‘infinity room’ using the architecture itself. ‘dots obsession – alive, seeking for eternal hope’ is one of three installations at the site, presented alongside ‘narcissus garden’ and a recently created enormous steel pumpkin. on view for a limited time — september 1 – 26, 2016 — the installation offers visitors the unique experience of simultaneously seeing the world through the eyes of both johnson and kusama.

covered in red polka dots, the glass house becomes a one-of-a-kind ‘infinity room’, signature to kusama’s oeuvre. ‘my desire is to measure and to make order of the infinite, unbounded universe from my own position within it, with polka dots. – in exploring this, the single dot is my own life, and i am a single particle amongst billions,’ kusama says. directly engaging with the architecture of site, large circular graphics wrap the house’s windows, walls and doors, complementing its structure and aesthetics. in a parallel scenario where philip johnson built the glass house as his own private universe, kusama too constructs an individual and personal world through the repeated representation of the polka dot

iPhone 7: apple offers water resistance, improved cameras, and longer battery life. La Vida Interior Company

Apple has unveiled its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus models, both of which feature a raft of innovations. the newiPhone includes advanced camera systems, much improved battery life, immersive stereo speakers, and is the first water and dust resistant model that the tech giant has released. the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus will go on sale on september 16, 2016.

apple has introduced a 12-megapixel camera that includes optical image stabilization on both models. a larger ƒ/1.8 aperture and 6-element lens enables brighter, more detailed photos and videos, while a wide color capture allows for more vibrant hues with increased detail. the iPhone 7 plus also features a 12-megapixel telephoto camera that, together with the 12-megapixel camera, offers up to 10 times digital zoom for photos. a new 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera is also included on the front of the phone

the devices use A10 fusion chip, a component that apple says is the most powerful in any smartphone. as a result, graphics performance is more powerful, running up to three times faster than an iPhone 6 with half the power. new stereo speakers offer immersive sound that is twice as loud as the iPhone 6s, offering increased dynamic range of sound and a higher quality speakerphone. the new iPhone comes with EarPods with lightning connector, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter that allows users to use old headphones and accessories. AirPods, apple’s new wireless headphones, offer efficient wireless communication for a better connection, improved sound and battery life

both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus come in five finishes: silver, gold, and rose gold, as well as two all-new black colorways. the jet black finish is accomplished via a nine-step process of anodization and polish for a uniform, glossy appearance. an entirely re-engineered enclosure results in a water resistant phone that offers protection against spills, splashes and dust

the new model features the iPhone’s brightest, most colorful retina HD display. meanwhile, a new solid-state home button is designed to be durable and responsive, and works in tandem with the taptic engine, providing more precise and customizable tactile feedback

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus dramatically improve every aspect of the iPhone experience, reaching a new level of innovation and precision to make this the best iphone we have ever made,’ said philip schiller, apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. ‘the completely redesigned cameras shoot incredible photos and videos day or night, the A10 fusion chip is the most powerful chip on any smartphone while delivering the best battery life ever in an iphone, and an entirely new stereo speaker system provides twice the sound, all within the first water and dust resistant iPhone.’.

How to choose the right paint and what are the major types of paint Lavida Interior Company

Confused about which paint is best for your project? Don't skip the research. The type of paint you choose is just as important as the color, and can have a major effect on thecharacter of your room. Read on to learn more about each type of paint — and potentially prevent a time- and money-consuming mistake.

WATER-BASED PAINTS

The majority of wall paint sold today is water-based, but oil-based paint remains popular for glossy woodwork, doors, and furniture, as well as demanding surfaces such as floors.
Be cautious when switching to a water-based paint if the surface has previously been coated with an oil-based product, as the new paint may not stick. In this situation, Sherwin-Williams recommends washing the surface and then roughening it all over with a medium to smooth grit sandpaper—making it clean, dry, and dull in order to prevent peeling of the new coat.
Advantages of water-based paints
  • low VOCs (low levels of toxic emissions)
  • easy cleanup with water
  • quick drying
  • an elastic, flexible finish resistant to cracking
  • stable color over time, without yellowing

OIL-BASED PAINTS

For those instances when an oil-based paint would traditionally be preferable, but you desire a water-based product, a number of companies have introduced "waterborne enamels" or "waterborne alkyds." These paints look and behave much like oil-based options because they have good leveling qualities for a smooth finish.
Advantages of oil-based paints
  • attractive gloss
  • good "leveling" (brush strokes fill themselves in to create a smooth finish)
  • hard, durable finish

PAINT FINISHES

Sheen options vary by manufacturer, but share some common characteristics.
As durability improves across all sheen levels with newer paints, many people are finding creative ways to mix and match them. "We've noticed that customers are becoming more experimental in their use of paint finish, to create real impact and texture within a scheme," says Farrow & Ball director Sarah Cole. "Try painting a stripe of full gloss on a matte wall in the same color to create a striking, textured look," she suggests.
Matte paint:
  • is the least reflective sheen available
  • has a velvety texture
  • helps hides imperfections in walls and ceilings
  • offers great depth of color
  • is generally considered the standard sheen for walls
  • can sometimes be difficult to clean
Eggshell and satin paint (satin is slightly glossier than eggshell):
  • have some reflectivity
  • offer improved durability
  • are frequently used in demanding environments, like kitchens and bathrooms, where easy cleanup without a highly glossy finish is desired
Semi-gloss and gloss paint:
  • are the most reflective sheens
  • are highly durable and stand up to multiple cleanings
  • are traditionally used on baseboards, moldings, and doors
  • can make a statement, but also highlight imperfections
Sue Kim, color trend and forecast specialist at Valspar, recommends trying an accent wallwith a gloss sheen, while painting the rest of a room matte. But at the end of the day, "It's all about how you want to set the atmosphere of your home," she says. "A matte sheen gives you a calm and serene feeling, because of that textural element." On the other end of the spectrum, gloss adds energy and excitement.
As for eggshell and satin, Kim likes to use them in smaller spaces with little natural light. "I always say that a satin finish is great in a powder room," she says. "It reflects the light to bring out the color

Clinic warm interior design by RIGI in chaina, La Vida Interior Design

this medical unit is not often seen as a friendly environment, the cold registration desk, the worrisome waiting chairs and the disturbing doors of the clinic rooms, all contribute to a sense of distrust. the studio aimed to eliminate this fear and create a space which would reflect the warmth and care that this health care group wished to project.

ordinary chairs in traditional hospitals are arranged in a parallel order which designer believes enhances the unease of patients. instead the studio introduced a series of rectangular tables which patients could sit around, presenting an unconventional environment that goes against the ‘waiting room’ area aesthetic. this layout is complimented by contemporary furniture pieces including bookshelves, pots, plants, hanging lamps and even a tea and coffee space, creating a home-from-home setting

the desk holds a complimentary facade which uses cut-away circles

the facade of the exterior is decorated using modular embellishments which have been translated into the interior, forming a complimentary facade behind the sign-in desk. a large play area for children is placed at the center of the room, using a house-shaped entrance which allows for a sense of warmth to be felt within the building. the corridors which lead to the medical rooms use numbers painted onto the floor, which subtly distract the patient from their nervous apprehensions before being seen by the dentist

How To Build Your Brand Identity, La Vida Interior Company

Building Brand Identity

The steps a company needs to take to build a strong, cohesive and consistent brand identity will vary, but a few points apply broadly to most:
Analyze itself and its market. A full SWOT analysis – a look at the company’s strength’s, weaknesses, opportunities and threats – that includes the entire company is a proven way to help a company’s managers understand where they’re at so they can better determine where they’d like to end up and how to get there.
Determine its key business goals. The brand identity should help fulfill them.
Identify its customers. Who is the company trying to reach with its products/services?
Determine the personality and message it wants to communicate. What does the company want its market to perceive
